John L. Gronski

Major General (Retired), United States

John L. Gronski, Major General, U.S. Army Retired, is currently a senior mentor with the U.S. Army Mission Command Training Program. He is also a leadership and management consultant and focuses on transatlantic security issues. Before retiring from the Army after over 40 years of service on active duty and in the Pennsylvania National Guard he was assigned as Deputy Commanding General (National Guard), U.S. Army Europe 2016 - 2019.


Other significant assignments include Commanding General of the 28th Infantry Division 2012-2016 ; Brigade Commander of 2nd Brigade, 28th Infantry Division in Ramadi Iraq 2005-2006; and Military Liaison Team Chief in Lithuania 2000-2001. 


He is a graduate of numerous military schools to include the U.S. Army War College, the Infantry Officer Advanced Course, Ranger School, and Airborne School.  His military awards and decorations include the Army Distinguished Service Medal with oak leaf cluster, Legion of Merit with oak leaf cluster, Bronze Star, Iraq Campaign Medal, Combat Infantry Badge, Ranger Tab, and Basic Parachutist Badge.  Foreign awards include the Cross of the Knight of the Order for Merits to Lithuania; and the Golden Medal of the Polish Armed Forces.
